Britain doesn’t have too much in the way of youth tennis hopefuls but one major female contender is Laura Robson. The now late-teenager girl stunned the world by winning the girls’ junior event at Wimbledon in 2008 at the age of 14. Although this is an achievement she hasn’t been able to repeat since. She has managed to get to the finals of The Australian junior tournament and the semi-finals of the US Open junior event. Laura Robson has been given a wildcard entry to the main Wimbledon draw twice but has been beaten in the first round twice, once by Daniela Hantuchova and Jelena Jankovic respectively.

Laura Robson is ranked 234th in world for seniors and 48th for juniors. Her senior win-loss ratio is 30-23 and has career prize money total of $106,243.

Dont bet on Laura Robson just yet

Laura Robson tennis betting for the senior events is a bad idea, assuming she actually gets into the main draw, as she will never win the tournament. If she did, the world would be shocked. The junior events on the other hand are a good idea to bet on Laura Robson. Although Laura Robson has slipped to being ranked 48th junior this can be attributed to her playing more and more senior events, she is still always a great contender to win the junior titles. Laura Robson has got to the final of the junior event twice in a row now in the Australia Open and my feeling is she will improve on that and win it as she has had more experience play at a higher level.

Therefore betting on Laura Robson to win the junior event is a good idea. Look for Robson to be continually improving in her senior ranking but not winning any tournaments, although she may win more junior events. So any form of Laura Robson tennis betting for senior singles should probably wait.

Laura Robson surprisingly showing how good she can be at doubles. In the Australian Open in 2010 Laura Robson and her partner Sally Peers managed to make it to the quarter finals despite being unseeded. She also entered the 2009 Hopman Cup partnering Andy Murray where the two of them made it to the final in which they lost to Spains Martinez Sanchez and Tommy Robredo. Laura played some fantastic singles and doubles throughout the tournament.
